1. 湖の伝説 / The Lake’s Legend

Japanese:
深い山々に囲まれた湖、「鏡の水」と呼ばれる場所がある。誰もその湖の底を知らない。
ただ一つ、湖の中央に金色の魚が住んでいるという話だけが、世代を超えて語られていた。

その魚を見た者は、心の痛みを忘れ、過去の苦しみすら薄れていく。
人々はそれを「癒しの主」と呼んだ。

English: Hidden among deep, forested mountains lies a lake known as Mirror Waters. No one knows its true depth.
Only one story has persisted through the generations: a golden fish dwells at its center.

Those who have seen it claim their pain faded, and their burdens became lighter.
They called it the Healer of Hearts.

2. 守人の剣 / The Guardian’s Blade

Japanese: その魚を守る者がいた。名を蒼という。
かつて命を失いかけ、湖のほとりで倒れていた彼は、その魚の光によって蘇った。
それ以来、蒼は剣を捨てず、湖を離れなかった。

村人たちは彼を「湖の影」と呼び、恐れと敬意を込めてその名を囁いた。
彼が話すことはない。ただ、魚のそばに立ち続けるだけだった。

English: There was one who guarded the fish. His name was Sō.
Once on the brink of death, he had collapsed at the lake’s edge—only to be revived by the fish’s gentle light.
Since that day, Sō never sheathed his blade nor left the lake’s side.

Villagers called him “The Shadow of the Lake,” speaking the name in awe and quiet reverence.
He did not speak. He simply remained, ever by the fish’s side.

3. 永遠を狙う者 / The One Who Hunts Eternity

Japanese: 遠い西の山に、一人の男がいた。狙撃手・黒羽。
戦場で数百の命を奪い、姿を見た者は誰も生き残らなかったという。

彼は噂を聞いた——「金の魚の鱗には永遠の命が宿る」。
信じた。
そして銃を担ぎ、静かに山を越えた。

English:
Far in the western mountains lived a man. The sniper—Kuroha.
A killer of hundreds on the battlefield, it was said no one who glimpsed him lived to tell the tale.

He heard the rumor—“The golden fish bears scales that grant eternal life.”
He believed it.
And so he shouldered his rifle and crossed the mountains in silence.

4. 邂逅 / The Encounter

Japanese:
夕暮れ、湖に霞がかかる。
その時、山の上に光が走った。銃口の反射だった。

蒼はすでに知っていた。今日が来ることを。
魚の前に立ち、鞘から刀を引いた。

黒羽は一発目を撃った。
音よりも速く、蒼は宙を走った。
刀が空を裂き、弾を断ち切った。

「人間の速さではない」
黒羽は歯を食いしばり、二発目を構える。

English: At dusk, mist drifted over the lake.
Then—a glint on the mountaintop. The reflection of a rifle’s scope.

Sō already knew. This day would come.
He stepped before the fish and drew his blade from its sheath.

Kuroha fired the first shot.
Faster than sound, Sō dashed through the air.
His sword cleaved the sky—and the bullet.

“No human moves that fast…”
Kuroha clenched his teeth and lined up a second shot.

5. 最後の一閃 / The Final Flash

Japanese: 引き金を引こうとした瞬間、黒羽のスコープには何かが映った。
それは剣。刃がすでに、目前に迫っていた。

息を呑む暇もなく、銃は宙に飛び、黒羽は地に倒れた。
蒼は一歩も動かず、その場に静かに立っていた。

魚は何も知らぬまま、水面を漂っていた。
湖にはまた、静寂が戻った。

English:
Just as he pulled the trigger, Kuroha saw something in his scope.
A sword. The blade was already upon him.

Before he could gasp, his rifle flew from his hands and he crashed to the ground.
Sō hadn’t taken a single extra step—he simply stood still, silent.

The fish, unaware of the battle, drifted peacefully beneath the surface.
And silence returned to the lake once more.

6. 永遠に守られる命 / A Life Eternally Guarded

Japanese:
夜が訪れ、星が湖面に降りてきた。
蒼は刀を収め、魚を一度だけ振り返った。

風が吹き、木々がささやく。
その中で、剣士はまた影となった。

魚は守られた。
今日も、そして明日も。

English: Night fell, and stars descended upon the lake’s surface.
Sō sheathed his blade and turned, once, to glance at the fish.

The wind whispered through the trees.
And within it, the swordsman vanished like a shadow.

The fish was protected.
Today. And again, tomorrow.
